Here is some good news for those of you who happen to be the youngest child in the family. Then again, if you are one of the older siblings, you may be asking for a recount.
This isn’t just a theory that comes from some random individual who puts up a YouTube video, it was research carried out by YouGov, so you can take it to the bank.
The study looked at different siblings in the family, using their personal view of responsibility, humor, organization, self-confidence and other factors and compared them to the other brothers and sisters in the family.
What was discovered is that the youngest child was easy-going in comparison with the others. The oldest sibling, on the other hand, seems to feel more responsibility than the others.
The news isn’t all that for those in the family. Older brothers and sisters may not be as funny as the younger siblings but they did tend to see more success in their life and were more family oriented.
The separation between the siblings even got stronger when there was more than one child between the oldest and the youngest.
The results speak for themselves:
“The most significant difference is in feeling the burden of responsibility – most (54%) of firstborns say they are more responsible than their siblings, compared to 31% of last borns.
Younger siblings, on the other hand, are more likely to say they are funnier (46% compared to 36% of elder siblings), more easy going and more relaxed.”
Now it’s time to go break the news to all of your brothers and sisters.
