When Pope Francis paid a visit to the St. Paul of the Cross Parish in Rome, a little boy named Emanuele was given the chance to ask him a question. In fact, the little boy’s father sadly passed away the last year and Emanuele has an important question on his mind and he’s looking for its answer.
The moment Emanuele was about to ask his question, he clammed up and stood there frozen. “I can’t do it,” he cried.
Then the pope responded kindly. “Come to me, Emanuele. Come and whisper it in my ear.”
Thanks to the pope’s gentle gesture, Emanuele took his courage and walked up to the pope on the platform and ask his question. The pair exchanged some words while whispering in each other’s ears.
After finishing the very quiet conversation, Emanuele returned to his seat, in tears, as the pope addressed the children of the parish. “If only we could all cry like Emanuele when we have an ache in our hearts like he has,” he said.
Then Pope Francis asked Emanuele if he can share his question with the rest of the parish. Emanuele said yes.
Pope Francis said he asked Emanuele if he could share the boy’s question with the rest of the parish. Emanuele said yes.
The pope then revealed what Emanuele had asked, along with his response. When he did so, chills swept through the crowd. You can see all of it in the video below:
